Construction IT Alliance Newsletter - July 2010
 

The CITA 20TH Members Meeting, held in the Aviva stadium on Friday 21st May 2010, was a great success. There were 160 people in attendance. The event included presentations from John Whelan (CEO Irish Exporters Association), Jan Gerritsen (Enterprise Ireland), Ken Kennedy (Group IT Manager, John Sisk & Son), and Sean Gallagher (Entrepreneur on Dragons Den and CEO Smarthomes).

CITA Skillnet Update

MSc Accreditation Update
 


On Thursday 25th June 2010 was successful in securing approval for an MSc in Construction Informatics from DIT. This Masters approval is an upgrade to the post graduate diploma in Construction Informatics that CITA received approval for on 18th June 2009. The Construction Informatics programme can now be completed on both a full time and a part time basis. CITA Member Companies can avail of up to 30% discount on the cost of programme modules. Suitable applications should have a minimum of a 2.2 degree in a construction related discipline.


CITAX Update
 
CITA published the final report for the CITAX project.

EIN Member Meetings
 

The 9th CITA EIN members meeting took place on Wednesday 21st July. This meeting was the second in a series of promotional meetings on Building Information Modelling and was kindly sponsored by Graphisoft.

New Product Development
 

The CITA Enterprise Innovation Network team are now concentrating on three categories for potential development by CITA, namely:

1. Construction software applications related to project collaboration, site mobile computing and electronic document management.

2. Information services related to information provision, including product specifications, regulations, standards, including mapping international standards; standards for information exchange; and software information provision.

3. Support Services including technology support services, training services and international marketplace services.
